****IMPORTANT: FACEBOOK UPDATE****
Facebook is cracking down on the millions of apps that are auto-posting to Personal Profile Pages.
Please read the entire article. We believe that sharing reviews to Personal Facebook Pages has become even more powerful and we have taken steps to use Facebook’s new policy to your advantage.
Funny story: every day or so, my Facebook feed shows a post from some app that my mom is on, telling me she just won a jackpot, or needs me to send farming resources (LOL), or wants me to download something and play a game with her. She clearly doesn’t know this is happening. The app must’ve had some preset permission when she signed up allowing them to basically spam all of her friends.
No more!
Facebook has put an end to this kind of activity, and this is very good news for Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey) users. Now, when you manually share to your Personal Facebook Profile, there will be far fewer of these posts competing with your great review content. However, for some of you, there is still work to be done.
Here’s what you’ve gotta do:
Are you using a Personal Facebook Page or a Business Facebook Page on Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey)’s automated posting tool?
- If you’re using a Business Page, you will not be impacted by this change.
- If you’re using a personal page, then login to your Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey) account and connect to your Facebook Business Page today.
- If you don’t have a Facebook Business Page, get started by reading “How to set up a Facebook Business Page in 3 Easy Steps” by Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey)’s Facebook Certified Expert, Emma Monro
This is another reason not to miss the CreateWOWSummit. We will take a deep dive into Facebook Business Manager and show marketing experts how to manage your entire hierarchy of Facebook Business Pages. Click here to register. Enter promo code WOWSOCIAL for a $200 discount.
Fewer than 10% of Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey) users are still connected to their Personal Facebook Profile for reviews sharing. On August 1st, Facebook’s New API Updates will go into effect. Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey) will no longer be able to auto-post to your personal Facebook pages. If your Experience.com (Formerly SocialSurvey) account is connected to a personal Facebook profile, new reviews will not publish.
After hearing about this change, our team got together with one question in mind: “How do we turn Facebook’s change into a big win for our users?” Some pretty awesome realizations came out of that brainstorm: mainly, that we need to find a way to get all of your reviews on Facebook Personal and Business Pages. With millions of Apps and tens of millions of posts now eliminated from the feed, there is far less noise (spam) in the way of your great review content. We also knew we had to make it easy for our users to create Business Pages and even easier for them to post reviews to their Facebook Personal Profile.
Special note of thanks to our community who offered awesome support in helping us to develop these ideas!
Here are two very simple things we are doing to use this news to your advantage:
- First, we will be doing live webinars, hosting a session at the CreateWOWSummit, publishing articles, and empowering our Success Team to help all of your users create and connect to a Facebook Business Page.
- Next, and here is the big one, every time a user gets a completed review, they will now see this button on top of the review content.
Whether you see this new review on mobile or on desktop, clicking this Share button will automatically share the review details to your personal Facebook page. We expect this workflow to create far more shares on Personal Profiles than we have ever experienced.
Let’s work together to get Business Pages for all of your users and to encourage them to take 10 seconds every time they get a review and click to share on their personal pages. Fewer than 10% of our users are being impacted by the change, but we can use this change to have a massive positive impact on 100% of our users.
Thanks again for all of your comments and suggestions. We practice “Extreme Listening” when building features and upgrades. We can’t wait to see so many of you at the CreateWOWSummit and see what we build next under your direction.
